After a successful debut in 2019, the White Sands Bahamas NCAA Invitational returned last month to the Ocean Club Golf Course, featuring 19 teams across men’s and women’s collegiate golf. The women’s competition took place October 22-24, featuring host school University of Miami and six other universities.
Kirsten Baete (University of Nebraska) took home the individual trophy - her first career tournament title - with a career-best 54-hole total of 206 (-10), which couldn’t have been a more perfect close to her 2021 senior-year fall campaign representing the Huskers. The team trophy went to Campbell University, coached by John Crooks, who’s been in charge of the Fighting Camels women’s golf program for 31 years - and in 2006 was inducted into the National Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
The men’s edition of the White Sands Bahamas NCAA Invitational took place October 29-31, featuring host school University of Arkansas at Little Rock and 11 other universities including the Ole Miss men’s golf team, who capped off their fall season with a clean sweep in paradise! The Rebels took home a pair of trophies for capturing both the team and individual titles, with senior Jackson Suber winning the tournament with a 54-hole weekend total of 205 (-11) – his first victory of the 2021-22 season. Ole Miss dominated the field with a margin of victory that ended up 11 strokes ahead of the 2nd place team (East Tennessee State University).
