This April for Earth Day, Atlantis completed a successful harvesting and outplanting of corals to a coral reef off Rose Island.
As part of Atlantis' established commitment to the flourishing Bahamian ecology, this effort continues to expand the sustainability of one of the nation's natural resources, the ocean.
This ongoing project helps rehabilitate damaged coral reefs by growing small coral fragments to repopulate reefs that have been eliminated through disease, hurricanes, or bleaching.
With support from partners like the Atlantis Blue Project Foundation, we have successfully outplanted more than 8,000 pieces of coral in Bahamian reefs.
All proceeds go to support the non-profit Atlantis Blue Project Foundation, dedicated to providing solutions for a wide range of marine conservation challenges from coral reef degradation to marine species in decline.
Bahamian coral reefs are at risk from climate change, water quality, storm damage, and disease – especially deadly stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD).
