The Bahamas Coral Gene bank

to protect and preserve our reefs

Together with our generous partners and collaborators, The Bahamas Coral Gene Bank at Atlantis Paradise Island (BCGB) was announced.
It is with immense pride that we carry forward the environmental vision of the late Sir Sol Kerzner, and are thankful to many who have been working together for years, and made this initiative possible including the Government of The Bahamas, Atlantis Blue Project Foundation, Perry Institute for Marine Science and The University of the Bahamas

home to up to 600 coral colonies
The BCGB will be the first coral facility of its kind in The Bahamas and will house up to 600 coral colonies most vulnerable to the highly lethal – and little understood – stony coral tissue loss disease. The Bahamas Coral Gene Bank at Atlantis will serve as a beacon of hope for the health of coral reefs in the Bahamas and around the world. #BahamasAtHeart
