In 2019, the University of Michigan's basketball team, the Wolverines, defied all odds and emerged as the victors. Considered an underdog, the Wolverines entered the tournament overshadowed by top-10 teams like North Carolina.
However, they had something to prove, and boy, did they deliver! Head coach Juwan Howard rallied his team to an extraordinary 82-64 triumph over Gonzaga in the final showdown, etching their name in tournament history.
Prior to getting into coaching, Howard had an accomplished 19-year NBA career, which was capped off with back-to-back NBA titles while playing with the Miami Heat and LeBron James.
During his college career as a member of the "Fab Five," Howard was part of the greatest Michigan and NCAA basketball recruiting class of all time and helped change college basketball forever.
Now Howard will once again lead the Wolverines into battle this Thanksgiving in hopes of taking home another championship trophy and continuing their winning legacy.
